Tips for making the perfect Muggin:

1. Before measuring out muggins mix, shake the bag a bit to insure even distribution of ingredients.

2. Microwave wattage will determine cooking time. For instance, muggins will require about 90 seconds in a 1200W microwave. For microwaves with lower wattage, increase cooking time in 30-second increments until muggins begins pulling away from mug.

3. You'll find detailed cooking instructions on the back of your muggins package. 

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

· 1 cup blondie muggins mix

· 1/2 cup peanut butter

· 1/4 cup date syrup

· Pinch of salt

 

Preheat oven to 350. Mix ingredients thoroughly. The dough should be tough to stir. Scoop 1.5 tablespoons of dough and form into balls. Using a fork, flatten each ball in a crisscross pattern. Bake 10-13 minutes.

 

Peanut Butter Blondies

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1.5 cups unsweetened plant milk
  • 1 pouch Peanut Butter Blondie Muggins
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2-1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350. Smash banana in a large bowl. Stir in plant milk. Add muggins mix and baking soda and stir until just mixed. Fold in chocolate chips. Spread mixture into prepared 8x8 pan. Bake 30 minutes or until knife comes out clean.

Not as expected

The Muggins Peanut Butter Blondie was a big disappointment. First time ordering and was excited to try a healthy, sugar free muffin to try to wean myself away from processed sugar. Unfortunately it did not cook up well. Not sure if it was my microwave but I ended up leaving it in for an extra minute and a half and it still was a bit goopy and did not rise like the Muggins in the photos. I also ordered a bag of the chocolate flavor which I’m afraid to try now!
Such a great concept but did not work for me.
However, I also bought the variety pack of bars and love them!

Thank you for your honest review, Charlotte. I must admit that's a pretty pitiful rendition of Peanut Butter Blondie Muggins! There can be a bit of a learning curve sometimes, depending on your microwave. Also, I wonder what you cooked it in--a mug, a muffin mold, or something else? WellBean cofounder, Patty, made a muggin recently in a small rectangular pyrex container, and it didn't cook up the same as in a mug or mold. Having said that, the texture of even a perfectly cooked muggin is different from that of a Standard American Muffin, so it might take a moment to adapt to the new mouth feel. :-)
